About the Work
The Louvre Heist really captured both mine and the world's attention. The stakes and audacity of it all really reminded me of a classic 1920s noir-style thriller.
I painted this piece in the months that followed, combining the defining elements of the heist: the infamous yellow jacket thieves, the stranger who was mistaken for a gendarmerie detective and of course, the cherry-picker truck.
I really enjoyed making this one and I hope that comes through when you see it.
